Excited about a new class

Post  Newsie96 on 4/6/2009, 2:49 pm

Murphy and I have been on the waiting list for a mini-clicker training class. We just got word that the class starts in May! And, if we want, the instructor said Duke is welcome to join, too. Duke only knows how to sit, but the clicker class may help us train him. He's a beast! (I have my eye out for when my favorite instructor is up next for the basic obedience.)

Murphy is still praticing his tricks and wowing them at our pug meets. He's also being a good boy for Mommy. I let him off leash when we're in the yard and when he starts to wander, I say, "Um, you need to be back this way" and he trots back to me. He does not, however, do this for Jeff. LOL He doesn't listen to Jeff at all and it bugs him! LOL

Great. I'm sure everyone will enjoy the class. Do tell us how it goes.

That's the exact opposite from our house. I can tell Diesel something til I'm blue in the face and he refuses to listen. If Josh has him in the garage and he wanders farther than he should or isn't listening, Josh will say, "Go in the house then if you can't listen." And Diesel comes running back in the garage and lays down so daddy will let him stay outside and do boy stuff in the garage!!

Sounds great! I can't wait to hear his new tricks.

CP only listens to mommy here as well. Scott will call her and call her to come in from the backyard, nope, he even offers her treat, nothing, all I have to do is call her, she comes RUNNING!

Jeff and I adopted Duke in July. My friend, who is an office manager at my vet's, called me about him. Initially her brother tried adopting him, but his older pug Pete didn't like Duke. Jeff asked me if we could adopt him because he really wanted a black pug. And the rest is history. He's a part of our family now. :)

I'll have to download some off my camera. (I work at home two days a week and the pugs are constantly snuggling so I snap a lot.) Here is one:

Isn't he so handsome. He's such a Daddy's boy but at night he snuggles up to me and we share a pillow. But he's a black pug and he's usually up to no good. He's proving the theory about black pugs!!
