Human/Dog Age Analogy

Post  Pugsavers on 10/7/2011, 9:37 pm

I know Mel was just asking about this, and in Heathy Pet magazine this month they happened to have a chart. This is for dogs up to 20 pounds:

Pet Age / Human Age

Adult:

3= 28

4= 33

5= 38

6= 42

7=46

Senior:

8= 50

9= 54

10= 58

Geriatric

11= 62

12= 66

13= 70

14= 74

15= 78

16= 82

17= 86

18= 90

19= 94

Cool! Did they have charts for larger dogs also? I've wondered about my friend's Australian shepherds who both died at the age of 17. One was only a month shy of his 18th birthday.

They don't even list 17 and above for over 20 lbs! For a 20-50 lb dog they say 16 is 94 and for a 51-120 lb dog they only go up to 12 which they have at 94.

Sugar Ray and I are the same age, and he's a senior! I refuse to admit to being a senior no matter how I feel when the alarm goes off in the mornings.
