possible MCT is bad area! Help!
I just discover a angry red itchy bump (looks like a boil) right next to Mochi's "pugina". I think it's an mct. If it is, how on earth will they be able to cut it out? Her last mct, was not itchy or red. I am going to call the vet this am when they open. Please pray & give me advise if you have experienced anything like this in this area. I can email you a pic also.

I have!!! Bella gets them all the time! For some reason her hoo haa gets dirty and I have to clean it all the time. Who knows... but if I get behind or forget she will get itchy and drag it on the carpet, grass, cement, anything!!! She will also get a red lump right at the front of it when it's irritated. Not always, but more than a couple times a year. I clean it, out some generic "diaper rash" cream on it and it will go away. I can't remember what the cream is called, but I got it at Walgreens. I usually give a benedryl too. So don't freak out that it's for sure and MCT!!! It may just be a reaction to something. I don't think MCT are usually red and itchy per say.

Doesn't sound good. No biopsy. Surgery today. Vet thinks a 2 or 3 if it's an mct. Tricky to get clean margins in the area it's in. : ( Won't get results till end of week.

Hang in there Lisa. The waiting is the worst. Hoping it's anything BUT an MCT.

She came out of surgery just fine. Had her teeth cleaned & 2 teeth pulled. Now just the waiting game to see what the results are. She has a cone one, but she can scoot & use her hind legs to scratch it! : ( Taking them to work to watch them. It's going to be a looooong week in more ways than one.

An MCT is a mast cell tumor, which is a type of cancer fairly common in pugs. If caught early, there's an excellent survival rate. That's a great reason to see the vet early on if you find any weird lumps and bumps.
