He's here!
And a pretty frisky and busy guy for an oldster. Tentative name is Sam. He's not an Abe or Eli or Augie (names we considered too). Softest coat I've felt in a while. A bit of a fattie, but not as bad as I was expecting. He's intact....sigh. and a bit of a humper, but Hazel and Tank sorted him out on that one....

I seems awfully pleased with himself.... I look forward to more pics and reports on his antics.

So far, he's a really good boy. Someone has cared for him at some point (except for the testicles still being there). His coat is incredibly soft. He's also shedding like a maniac--which they usually do when they first come in.

He looks like a Sam. It suits him.

Sam's looking pretty comfortable! Good luck with the dangly bits.

Well, he's stopped humping and isn't marking so the dangly bits are not an issue right now. And it's going to have to wait anyway since we don't usually neuter if they've been vaccinated recently. We wait a couple of weeks before neutering. We'll see what my vet thinks in terms of whether she'll neuter without the rabies vaccine. If so then we'll neuter him in a couple of weeks and then vaccinate a couple of weeks after that.

Beats me, Maryjo. He sure doesn't act like he's 13. Yes, he's greying and a bit gimpy--but not much. sight seems pretty good as does his hearing.
We'll see what my vet thinks about his age. He's no youngster, but he's not older than dirt either (or if he is, he's well preserved dirt).
Re: He's here!
He is a handsome gentleman. I can only imagine how fast Crazel and Tank got the humping stopped. It is so sad that so many people (I use the word advisedly) can't see the love and happiness that the older pugs bring. Their loss, unfortunately.

Yeah--he's been pretty stressed so panting a lot and drinking a lot. When he's settled his tongue doesn't hang out that much.Mel wrote:look at that tongue! he sure looks happy now.

What a lovely boy he is.
He looks like he likes his new digs just fine and your new floor fits in nicely with puggie colors to (I'm still jealous that you got the wide plank and I didn't
