Buddy
As most of you on FB saw, our latest foster Buddy arrived yesterday. He's 10 years old, hasn't seen a vet at all in the past three years, and is overweight but he is a total lovebug! He spent most of yesterday staring at the front door waiting for his momma to come back for him, the poor dude. He wasn't allowed on furniture or beds in their home but he sure made a good snuggle partner for me in the bed last night!
Today we'll try to clean his most likely infected ears and trim his very long nails. Tuesday he goes to the vet for a heartworm test (fingers crossed that it's negative!) and start getting him up to date on his shots. He should be pretty easy to adopt out once he's ready. He's very sweet and hasn't even tried to lift a leg in the house once since he got here. That's a miracle around here!

Re: Buddy
I saw him on Fb and he's really handsome. Hopefully he can get UTD on shots and be ready to go out the door to a fabulous home!

Re: Buddy
Despite his being "dumped" and looking for his mum, he does look happy! Probably 'cause he realises he's in such a great place!

Re: Buddy
ooo I wanna squeeeeeze him!
Such a handsome boy and sure doesn't "look" 10 to me and apparently has aged well with the lack of grays. My only comparison of course at the moment is Devil Boy and he's turning white right before my eyes.
Major!! finger crossing for a NEG HW.

Oh, handsome! He doesn't look 10 years old at all. Fingers, toes, and paws crossed for a negative HW here, too.

Re: Buddy
So the good news is that Buddy is heartworm negative. The bad news is that they aspirated a bump on the back of his right front leg while we were there and it's a mast cell tumor. He goes in for surgery next Wednesday to have it removed and sent out for pathology/grading.

Sending along some good thoughts for Buddy. I hope the pathology results are good. How could anyone dump their pug? I just do not understand how some people think.

Re: Buddy
Thanks for the good thoughts! I dropped him off at the vet on my way into work this morning.
For a pug who didn't want to eat much when he first got here, he sure was unhappy about not getting breakfast this morning!
