2 more fosters probably coming
better titled , I've officially lost it!
Mama who is Mickeys "sister" according to the ol heifer that dumped them , has completed her heartworm treatment and is being adopted to an out of state home but needs a fosterhome for 4-6 weeks. The other lady who works with pugs through our HS says she cannot keep her due to her own agressive diva and the one other possible place isn't looking to forthcoming sooo they called me.
The other is a 2 yr old black boy /not ONE word from certain persons...lol/ (intact) who ran away from home in the summer {wonder why
} , was picked up by animal control, reclaimed by the owners who paid the fine for animal at large and signed the neuter contract, in turn was sold by them a week later {still intact} , ran away from that home {again , wonder why
}, and was picked up again by animal control. No address was given for the person who had purchased him so he was not returned this time and has been through the 10 day hold. He has a pending adoption but he will come to me first for fostering while he's neutered and waiting for the interested families decision.
Heaven help me.

All you guys who step up to the plate (you know who you are) for the difficult fostering situations - I bow deeply to you.

Saira:: I knew you'd say it!!!
But oh my goodness is he CUUUTE.
Allie: O how I WISH a few more to help would majically appear but you know as well as I do how hard to come by good fosters are
. We just had our annual summer fundraiser/adopt-a-thon and garnered a few new fosters but they were looking for the large breeds that preferably been in the shelter awhile or the little poodle types.
While I really AM happy about that because we need them , I could use some help for the little guys to. I won't complain though, 6 large breeds that have been there 1-3 years have been adopted since the f.r. and that's great.
I "think" I can manage though if I have to as long as the ones passing through are the ones awaiting transport because I know they won't be here long , making room for the next one(s).
Luckily , I live in an area where it's fairly rare to see pugs come through the shelter. Only 6 this year and I will have 3 of them here, one was adopted almost immediatly and the other is a ^HW+^ because to much damage was done to her already causing her little heart to give out :( and the other was before I started working with them but he has gone to a home in LRock.

Re: 2 more fosters probably coming
ahhhh ... We're in a "holding pattern" so no newcomers yet and waiting patiently isn't my thing unfortunatly.Mamas nose started reallllly running this morning so she's been carted off to the vet to reside a couple of days. No chances being taken since she's just winding down the treatment.
They are working on getting Tanker in for his neuter on Monday if the vet can squeeze him in on the schedule before he leaves for Holiday so he's on hold but I went out earlier and loved on him, got him moved into the "conference/meeting" room just off the office where it's quieter, took him a snugglie toy and a nice big blanket.
Since it looks like I have a few spare days, I'm trying to muster the energy for ripping out the carpet and getting new flooring down. It was in the works for next spring but if I'm gonna have a sneeky little marker (and I just "know" he is...little dark devil..lol) lurking about, we're speeding up the process.
