Moose!

Post  Rebecca and the Pugs on 11/10/2011, 7:37 pm

After over a month of trying to get his relinquishment, Moose is finally home. Poor thing has actually been staying at a vet's office for a month. Here is a picture of Peachy telling him that he will be safe here...

And this is a picture of the vet that cared for him and Roxane.

Big snores on the couch after being boarded at the vet for a month.

Apparently I am super lame and don't know how to get the image to show.

I'm so glad he's with you now, Rebecca. I can't imagine any pug, let alone such a sweet looking senior, spending a month at the vet's office.

Thanks Sarah. How did you do that? Can you fix the new one I just added of him on the couch?

Rebecca... go to the 16th little box above the reply box that says "image". Click it and paste the Http code of your pic into it and voila.

Here's handsome snoozing.

Donna- Another rescue group had him and they folded. Roxane and I have been working with them for over a month to get them to relinquish him to us. They signed him over to the vet, and then the vet relinquished him to us. But, we did not realize that he has been boarded there for a month. The vet was a very nice guy, interviewed me to make sure I was a "good" home, and wants to do a home visit on me in the future. That is fine. He is safe now.

Oh man, he is a cutie--and the vets not bad looking either.

Does he seem in pretty good shape, Rebecca?

Well, for an almost 17 year old pug..... He has limited vision and very bad arthritis. He is HUGE. 33 pounds! He can stand to lose a bit of weight, but he is just a BIG pug. He did have an acupuncture appointment today, but he has been drinking and peeing like a race horse. And his gas can knock me over. Peachy has been surprisingly sweet with him. I am not sure where he will sleep tonight. I am afraid he will fall out of my bed. I want to put him in the kitchen, in case he has an accident, but I am not sure if Peach will be happy. I might section it off with an ex-pen.

That picture of him & Peachy is so precious! It sounds like even though he was boarded at the vet for a month, they took very good care of him while he was there. I have to wonder if he didn't go home with the vet for some "sleepovers" since it sounds like he truly cares about Moose's well being. And seventeen years old? Wow. He looks really good!

Moose looks like such a love, I am so happy he is with you.

Sounds like the Vet is a good man, reading that he also wants to do a home visit tell me this man really cares, that is so nice to hear.

How was his first night with you ?

Poor love had MAJOR gas last night which resulted in a Great Dane size poop this morning. I put some enzymes on his breakfast this morning, so that should help. He is still knocking me over with his gas bombs, but it should settle down soon. I had him sleep in the kitchen with Peachy last night. He crashed on his bed and I don't think he moved at all last night. Peach didn't make too much of a fuss to have her space invaded. He really can't see much of anything. The vet was such a sweet man. I think I talked to him on the phone about 4 or 5 times. He really did care about Moose. I just can't imagine a pug sleeping in a cage for very long. My pugs seek out softness and comfort at all times. Moose does prefer to sleep on a bed on the floor, instead of the couch. Right now he is snoring by my feet on one of Rachel's beds. He really is darling.
