NIPRA?

Post  Nan and BAGS on 12/2/2011, 10:31 am

I just got contacted by my dog walker about a 6 year old male PUG cutey that needs a home. Because he is older than Aine - I really cant have him. Also I will be having 2 additional dogs for the next 2-3 weeks so I dont want to stress the poor guy out.

What does this family do - or who do I have them contact!? They already have 2 dogs and 2 kids and it looks like they cant give the attention they need to.....

welcome thoughts!

I believe that Brenda said that NIPRA disbanded and is no longer operating.

Nan, I PM'd you

my mom was thinking about a friend for Paddy, but this guy might be a little too young. I told her she should probably have another senior. What do you know about this guy?

Oh man! NIPRA disbanded?!

Pug lover just sent you a pm. That would be awesome.

No, NIPRA is still going strong! Not sure where that rumor came from. We got the email and I forwarded it to our intake coordinator, Nan. She'll be in touch. I believe that we have a wait list for incoming right now though.

Wasn't that PPRA? Or something like that?

Oh, that's right. I remember being surprised when I read that the other day because I hadn't heard about it yet.

there used go be a great lakes pug rescue, that's where Sheila got Paddy from. They have since closed down, maybe that's where the confusion came from, because that was in Northern Illinois too (I think)

I hope NIPRA gets this guy a home, I have to bow out since I think he's a little young for my mom, but I wish him all the best....hope we can get an update!

The last update that I got was that our intake coordinator had called the owner and left him a message but he never called her back. If I hear anything else, I'll let you know. Maybe Nan knows something?

That is so frustrating! I hate when people act like it is an emergency and you spend time trying to find an available foster home that even has room, and then the original owner does not call back.

Yep and it happens ALL of the time. SO frustrating! We're spinning our wheels when we could be helping another pug that may be in a true emergency situation.

The no calls and no shows are amazing. And of course you worry about the pugs, and what happened to them!
