After nearly 2 1/2 years . . . .

It just warms my heart to share that nearly 2 1/2 years after we adopted Grace (August 4, 2007), she actually willingly cuddles with me. When we lay in bed watching TV, Grace likes to lay by Josh's pillow, but she's very clear in that she doesn't like to be bothered and petted and kissed when she's laying in bed.

However, in the past probably 2-3 months, she's decided she still wants to lay on Daddy's side without being touched or petted or kissed, but she now likes to scoot over next to me and be touching me while she's sleeping in bed!

Melts my heart every night when she does it. It's a huge thing for her to actually seek out that cuddling - even if it's one-sided in that she can cuddle me but I still can't touch and cuddle her!

That needed an awwww alert. That is so sweet, it has me leaking on my keyboard.

That's so amazing and wonderful. My heart is melting too.

it just goes to show how much reward you get when you work hard with these poor little damaged mites.

That is the best news I have heard all day. Go Grace!

You've done good with her Rachel - beyond good. You rock!!!!

I still get warm fuzzies when Angel gives me a quick kiss on the cheek. She's not a big cuddler either, but once in a while I get a smooch.

Such a sweet start to my day! I don`t think there is anything more rewarding than the `TURNING POINT with a rescue pug. Life is so much easier and wonderful after that for both of you.

I agree, it's wonderful seeing all your hard work pay off, and what makes it all worth it.

Oh wow! Grace is figuring out that love might be a good thing! Someday soon I bet she'll like a cuddle or two back.

That is truly truly wonderful. I don't know the story behind Gracie's adoption but it sounds like she had a sad start. You must be an awesome pug mom!

I agree this should have had an awww alert!! Is'nt it great when you see all your patience and love start showing through in them. It'll only get better and better from here!!
