Never a dull moment around here

Post  akc0104 on 12/12/2009, 10:34 am

Matilda went and hurt her eye early Friday morning. I didn't see what happened, but at 2am she was fine, by 3:30am her eye was swollen and closed. Bob hasn't fully been eliminated as a suspect but Matilda was running hard around the yard at 2am and could have done it then. (I was doing a work from home all nighter.) Our vet said the spot it's in would have been difficult for Bob to do.

She's got a deep ulcer. sigh. And fashionable headwear. She and Bob are wearing leashes around the house so I can step on them or tether them if they start playing rough.

When we got home from the vet yesterday, we all flopped on my bed. Matilda went right to sleep, Bob lay next to her. All is peaceful until I realize that Bob is quietly undoing Matildas e-collar!! He nearly had it off.

Yeezus Lisa, never a dull moment is an understatement! Hope her eye heals quickly, with or without Bob's intervention...

Bob was just trying to be helpful and get Matilda out of that nasty e-collar. Now I have to clean the decaf off the screen. Poor Matilda and poor you - you are right, never a dull moment.

Laugh, laugh, giggle, giggle. Not at the fact that Matilda's eye is hurt, but at Bob trying to be a good brother and help her out of that e-collar.

Otto had an eye ulcer over the summer. He hated the collar, but it did protect his eye and it's all healed now. I call this past summer "the summer of the eye meds" (also the summer we helped make the animal eye specialist richer).

Good luck to you and my sympathy to your Matilda.

I hope Matilda heals quickly. Poor little baby, eye injuries are no fun.

When mine are too quiet I know they are into no good. Lol. I always catch them when it's too late. Good thing you caught Bob in the act. What a funny guy. Give them hugs for me.

He sure is a helpful little guy! I am glad you guys caught it early, hopefully he leaves the collar alone.

I took the cloth tie part and sprayed it down with bitter apple and then did a quick spray to the outside of the collar and it's kept Bob away. For now.

Poor Matilda! Eye injuries are very painful. Various pugs of mine over the years have had them so I can feel for you.

Hugs from me to her.

That Bob is a stinker and a master of escape. He must have escaped from San Quentin in a former life (and helped some inmates escape with him).

I hope Matilda heals quickly.
