14 Rescue dogs stolen in TN

Hello all,
At 3:30 am this morning, two men broke into one of our Pilots N Paws rescue
members Doggie Care Center in Johnson City, TN. This is where our friend
and fellow rescue person, Tammara Josselyn, keeps all the rescue animals
she takes in, nurses back to health, and finds loving homes for.

Three of the dogs taken were personal pets. The men stole a total of 14
dogs...12 rescue dobermans in various stages of care, one lab, one minpin
and one mixed breed though that one was located in the woods behind the
center. One of the dobermans needs pancreas meds to be able to digest any
food, one of the younger females was recovering from someone tossing her
off a bridge, another dog has been blind since birth, and the list goes on.

Her niece lives in an apartment above the center and when the dogs would
not stop barking, she came down to investigate. One of the men dropped the
dog and came after her with a knife and cut her side. She is ok, just
needed some sutures, but emotionally distraught.

Early in the day a man came in asking if she sold dobermans. She told him
no, this is a rescue and if he was interested, please fill out an adoption
form. They believe he was casing the place.

Please spread the word to your friends, your group lists, everywhere you
can. Here is the email and phone contact for Canine Hope Rescue though
please use discretion when contacting them as I imagine they are bing
inundated with emails and phone calls.

Tammara needs our help, she is devastated and only wants these dogs back.

How unbelieveably horrible. There will be a special place in hell for those men. Keep watching craigslist, some might appear there.

I am very worried they wanted the dobies for pitbull practice.

I'll pray those a$$holes are found quickly and the dogs are safe.

omg that is horrible! I can't believe they came at her with a knife..I am glad she came out relatively ok. I really hope that they are found and that all of the dogs are found and ok! geez...poor animals :(

I am sure the thing going through the minds of everyone is WHY WHY WHY???? This is so sad. I hope, they're found.

Unbelievable. I hope she's OK and I pray that the dogs will somehow be found.

I'm afraid of people associating Dobies with attack dogs and fighting dogs and trying to use them for that. Poor babies. Just when I think I've heard it all, something like this happens.

Oh good lord how awful!! I pray their all found safe. This just makes me sick to my stomach.

I so hope some good citizens knows something and is able to get the dogs returned, unbelievable sad.

This is so very disgusting! Those dogs must be terrified and these people need to be locked up! Hope they catch them and the dogs are fine.

I hope the rescue pushes to get the word out daily- newspapers, radio, signs, any way possible. Tell the rescue to not only watch craigslist, but to post there, too.

Someone will know someone who will blab.

Meanwhile, I'll be praying like mad that the dogs are found.

Very sad. All the rescue people locally are keeping an eye out too. We not real close to that area, but you never know.

Oh my, this horribly frightening and sad. I'm praying for those poor dogs to found unharmed.

This is so sad! What monsters would do something like this? If they are using the Dobies as bait, I'm going to have to hope they get attacked by a dog and get their balls chomped off.

How horrible and sad. Saying prayers that the dogs are found soon and that the sub-humans who did such an awful thing get theirs. And soon.
