Picking up my second foster today
I am picking up Dawn, a seven yr old partially blind puppy mill pug.
Her and her sister had been being fostered by a great foster family but something happened last week and the foster parents pugs decided to start picking fights with them. The foster parents are afraid they will get hurt so asked they be brought to a new foster home.
I'll post pics when I get her....wish me luck.

Here she is, she is much bigger than my two.

She is staring out a round window I have and is totally fascinated by what she sees or does not see. Her vision is limited but she is getting around just fine. A little skittish but not bad.
Vivian is very upset she is here.

I hope, Viv is not a dogs dog, she is a people dog, Rupert is just fine, he loves all dogs and people.

Oh, she is so darn cute! Her face reminds me of Diesel. I hope Viv isn't too miffed about Dawn being around.

She looks very sweet. I love the puppy mill dogs--the girls especially.

Re: Picking up my second foster today
So far she is doing great, slept in a crate right by my bed with little fanfare, got her to do her business outside and eat her breakfast.
Rupert wants to play with her but she does not know how and Viv still wants her to go away!
She is already very attached to me and does not leave my side, she is a bit apprehensive of my husband, wonder if it's just a male voice.
She is getting around amazingly well for limited sight, had a bit of an issues going down the stairs but that is to be expected, she had bumped into a few things and got herself a little tangled in my computer cords but she figured out how to get herself out (I was watching her carefully)
I've noticed if I go to pick her up she goes into defense mode and flattens out, why is that?.
I'm bringing her to a meet up today on the advice of her adoption coordinator to get her more acclimated to different situations and I will bring her to work with me this next week.
Anything I should know about dealing with a seven yr old puppy mill pug?

Awww, she is beautiful!
The reason that she flattens out is because she is not used to positive human contact & with being picked up. There are some good tips on puppymill behavior & getting them acclimated here: http://www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html .
