If she is 7 and has been in a mill the whole time, it sounds like she is doing pretty good. The flattening is normal and usually from lack of any human contact. I am sure she is moe afraid of men, most of my mills fosters have been. The longer they were in the mill the more afraid they are. Thank you for fostering her. She is a pretty girl and I am sure will shortly learn to enjoy the finer things in life!

she is doing really well, I have her at work with me, while I'm typing this she is snoring away by my feet.
She is still scared of my husband and they guys at work.
She has already done the I'm a happy pug while on the futon rubbing her head and whole body around.
She's sleeping in a crate by the side of my bed at night so Viv and Rup don't get to bent out of shape. Viv is still not happy but she won't be till she is gone.
I really think given the right home she will just blossom, she is not that far gone.
I don't know how you guys who foster all the time can do it, I'm already worried about her leaving, ( not that I want to keep her) but I want to make sure she gets a good home. I don't know if my skin is thick enough to keep doing this.

She's very pretty.l..whenever I've fostered mill pups I just always say "up" before I pick them up then they learn what I'm going to do. I've started this with baby Doug and he's really coming along nicely. Thank you for opening up your home once again and fostering!!

Dawn is coming along nicely. Vivian tried to bite her head off last night because she wanted to be on my lap but we worked it out.
On average is there an amount of time a seven yr, vision impaired pug gets adopted? how hard is it to let them go, I do not want to keep her, I know she needs a forever and I am not it but I am already worried about her new home and how they will treat her.
My last and first foster I adored but was happy to see her go, she just was to much for Viv and Rup and they are my main concerns, this one is fine with them but like I said Viv is not.
I will be happy to see her get placed but my heart is already heavy and I have not even had her a week.
It could be that I have seen her improve so much in just a short few days.
How do you who foster do it...that's more of a statement!
Here is another cute pic I got of her this morning.

She's adorable. I know how hard it will be to let her go. Kashi has been with us since mid-December, and she isn't going to her forever home until the first or second week of february. I am going to have a tough time letting ehr go.

I know it's the right thing to do no doubt, and it will be nice to have my little family back like normal but gosh it's hard!

They all hurt. Some more than others. I have a girl about that age right now, Fran, and I have been fostering her since the end of Sept. She is a sweet girl, but she will only go to the right home. She does not need to be in a house full of kids. She would be great as an only dog and she had made such progress and is happy to be petted and actually will give kisses now! She will even put her feet on Greg's shoulder and demand rubbies! She loves to rub her face on you and get belly rubs!

I keep doing it even though every single time it literally destroys me cause there is a need. I get so much from each one that in the end they are happy and the new family is also happy. That is what I want. I want to teach them to trust and to know love. If they are able to do that in the new home, then the reason I do this, no matter how hard, is validated. I will never say it is easy cause I love each of them just like they are my own and I would never give up one of my own, but I know there is another out there in a shelter somewhere that needs somewhere safe to go.

Donna, she's such a sweet girl and I'm glad she's doing so well with you. I think it's great that you're taking her around to different places - it's good for them to get out of their comfort zone and be in new surroundings. You're going to see her blossom more and more every day and it's so much fun to watch.

Donna she is beautiful. I am an absolute mess every time I foster. I have a problem getting very attached in the first 30 seconds of having the foster. Then it kills me to say good-bye. But - the minute I meet or get the first update about my former foster that makes it all okay.

Lola is just like Viv and Logan is just like Rupert. I love having the two different personalities. Lola hates every foster and teaches them how to have manners and Logan teaches them how to play. He actually brings his toys up to their mouth and won't stop. They eventually get it and play tug with him. It is the cutest thing.

Kerrie, I often think of Lola and Logan in regards to Viv and Rup, maybe it's the boy girl thing!

She has come leaps and bounds since she got here not even a week ago.
I thought I was going to start crying when I watched her play with a loofah dog last night, then this morning she jumped up on the coach, starting doing the dog rubbing thing and flipped the pillows off.

Viv is still wary of her, she just keeps her distance with her ears down and Rup is trying to get her to play although she has no clue what hes doing.

I want her to get adopted soon, the longer she is here the harder it will be when she is gone.
Thanks for all the help, this is only my second foster and my first puppy mill one.

Donna it sounds like she is doing great! I would just relax and enjoy the time that you have with her. I would say to take plenty of pictures and maybe create a journal of the things that she does on a daily basis. You can pass the photos and journal along when her new family is found. I think that will be rewarding to you and even though it will break your heart a little for her to leave, you will have the peace of knowing how much you helped.

I have no advice as to fostering. I suck at fostering because they never leave.
