Genteal Gel

Post  Tyson&LuLu'sMom on 2/24/2010, 8:23 am

I accidentally bought the Genteal Gel for severe dry eye instead of the Genteal Gel Drops for Mac.

I opened the box, but not the tube at all. Can anyone use this-I'd be happy to send it to someone!

I'll take it! BBBob uses it a few times a day.

I use the gel drops as a lubricant so their eye lids don't rub on their eyes causing pigmentation to form-mostly a preventative but for Mac the ophthalmologist wants to see if daily drops will help his vision loss in his right eye at all. I'm not hopeful of that, but it doesn't hurt them at all to do once daily eye drops.

My vet just recommended this for a preventative. Glad to see others have tried it as well. We were using Puralube but it made the girls' eyes water like crazy so we are going to give this a shot. My next trip to Target and I'll be picking some up.

Penny gets the Genteal gel 3-4 times a day for her PK and dry-eye. Works like a champ.

Logan has prescription drops twice a day and genteal gel twice a day recommended by the ophthalmologist. The genteal gel is great and Logan is such a good boy with his drops. I am sure treats after every drop have nothing to do with it. Lol.

I love the Genteal products. Use them all the time--both the drops and the gel.

Would Genteal Gel be okay to use if a pug has PK but not dry eye? Also I put a prescription ointment(Neomycn/PolyB/dex) in his eyes twice a day. Do you think Genteal Gel would be over-kill?

Genteal would be safe to use at any time, but if you are already giving prescription meds for the pk and there is no dry eye then it may not be doing any good although it sure is not hurting. Just make sure you spread out the times when giving both. You don't want to wash out the prescription meds by applying genteal right after the application

Actually, Bob gets Optimmune and genteal both. Our eye doctor said it helps break up the pigmentation even though Bob doesn't have dry eyes. So I don't think it's overkill.
