My Abercrombie is movin' on....
Well, my sweet old Abercrombie is being adopted today. He is going to a wonderful family that have already adopted 2 other pugs from Polar Pug Rescue in the past.
This bittersweet part is always the hardest.
There are things about Abercrombie I will never forget. I love how his front legs are white, but his back legs are still very dark. He makes the cutest little sound when he is breathing. Whenever he lays down, he always does the frog legs with his hind legs. Gosh, there is so much to love about him, I know he will do wonderful in his new home...but I am sad to see him go. We've had him 3 months now, seen him through his rough times of feeling abandonded, and seen him through a dental. When I first got Ab, he was so upset and scared about being in rescue that he would not eat. Litterally, went a week without eating. I finally got him eating by putting kibble in my pocket, and doling it out to him one piece at a time, as if I were giving him treats through out the day.
Please say a prayer that this quiet old gentleman gets to spend his golden years in a happy home.

(((Reneé))) The Ab-man is looking so good! I know the best home ever has been found for him!
It is hard, though, but that just shows what a great foster-mom you are!
If you didn't care, you wouldn't be so sad...

Aw, Renee, I can only imagine how bittersweet it is for you. You have worked miracles with handsome Mr. Abercrombie, and he will always love you for it. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have a wonderful forever home.

Best of luck to Abercrombie in his new home. And congratulations to you, Renee, for preparing another dog to move on to their forever home. It's an amazing thing you do, and MJ's right, if you didn't care it wouldn't hurt so bad. Hugs to all of you.

It is always bittersweet. Happiness for a rescue to be starting a new chapter in their life, but sadness that they'll be leaving you. Like everyone else has said, if it weren't for you and the time spent in your loving home, he wouldn't have this opportunity. And just think how lucky that family is that will be getting him.

He is handsome and will remember you for what you did! Now, dry the tears and get ready cause there is another that needs a safe place to land just like he did.

How very bittersweet it is. I have only been fostering for a bit now and each time it gets harder to see them go.
Thanks for all you have done for him to have a great rest of his life.
