Phantom Puker...
Well not the best way to start the day but twice this week some puggy had puked in our bed during the course of the night. Both appear normal in the morning and both eat. So nows the real trick...how do multiple critter homes figure out who the culprit is? Bear went to the vet about 2 weeks ago for tummy issues but seems better. Bella got sick this weekend and wouldn't eat but seemed better Sunday morning. Any suggestions on how I can figure out who's sick so I can get them to the vet? Or atleast keep a closer eye on them. I'm going to see if my MIL will watch one of them tonight so we can figure out which one it is but I'm not sure what her plans are for tomorrow. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I suppose you could try smelling their breath to see if that gives you any clues.

WOW! I envy you that you don't have the whole menagerie up on the bed fighting over who gets to eat it. I never have any trouble figuring out who puked. One, my dogs all make that God Awful Urka-Gurka noise before puking and as soon as everyone else hears the first "urka", they all wake up and surround the puker waiting to wade in and feast
TMI? Sorry.

Good luck with that! Hopefully you figure out the phantom. Perhaps it was just a little icky stomach and it passed through the night?
We had a phantom pooper for months. Took us forever to catch Mr. B in the act.

Thank god that happens at other homes too!!! I am the lightest sleeper around so I always hear them before they actually throw up.
Last week D threw up his breakfast in three different piles - I was trying to keep them all away from each pile so I could manage to get out of the bedroom and get some paper toweling to clean it up. Normally, I have a little help from Josh to herd them away from it while I get something to clean it up with. This time I was on my own - don't think I've ever sprinted so fast to/from the kitchen!! I don't know, maybe he did three separate piles so they could each have their own pile to scarf down?! Thoughtful puker he is.

That happens here too, only with the cat, who is a puker. I swear they have a 6th sense. All activity stops and they stare at Mickey. Then it's a race to see who can get to it first.

My cat is the puker here too. The three little ones race for clean up duty. I'm usually screaming like a loon and waving my hands to keep them all away from it.
And there is no worse sound than the urka-gurka.

Aparently sleep is much more important to my two that yummy leftovers *gag*. The culprit pukes between Jace and I then both pugs slowly try to push me off the bed. No noise is made. Until the morning which is 4am when Jace gets up for work. And the noises made then aren't the best either. Apparently one got sick yesterday during the day but between the two of them it was mostly cleaned up before I got home. I suspect Bella is the puke eater. Waste not want not for my food motivated pug. LOL
MIL is taking one pug home with her tonight and we are keeping the other to find out which one is sick. Its always something with these stinkers.

I have to agree with this, worst thing I've ever heard. And all 3 of mine are puke eaters too. Sometimes I wonder if it even hits the floor before the puker or the other 2 waiting try to eat it. Bleck!!

Dayna, this response is not to your dilemma, but to Blanche's response and everyone else's about their pets dining habits on recycled food......
Okay, back to normal programming about the phantom puker....hope you can find the culprit, or more importantly, hope it doesn't happen again tonight!
I'm usually woken by the "urka-gurka" (I have a new phrase for my vocabulary!!) and it's amazing the speed at which someone of my girth can move and make it to the en suite with an urka-gurking dog to puke in the loo or on the floor of the shower.

Re: Phantom Puker...
It depends on what is thrown up as to if I can tell who did it. If they throw up some yellowish bile either alone or with contents from their stomach, I can smell their breath. Plus, with Ruffy having a beard, he usually gets some in his beard hair, and it really stinks. I'm lucky that my three don't throw up much. Taz used to throw up a lot during the first 5 years of his life.
