Van update

Post  Saira on 8/23/2010, 10:13 pm

So he has been recovering at our vet's for the past week. He went to his foster today (Diana), and check out his tail!! I can't believe he's walking on it, if you had seen him before, it was pitiful. Considering we were told by the shelter that they thought he'd never walk and would need a cart, I'd say this is pretty miraculous (and thanks to our great vets!). He's ok to move around (and build up to slow walks), he just can't jump or play rough, obviously. We'll probably get him started on water therapy too to build up that muscle since he has been used to not using that leg.

We also got the sweetest note from the vet tech who took such great care of him, she even came in on her days off to sit with him. She said she wished she could adopt him because she felt such a connection with him but since she works 7 days a week it wouldn't be fair to him. He's a lucky boy!

he's sooooo HAPPY!!!! WOW!

go Van! and go Diana! she's sure turned into a fantastic foster home for you guys. Van hit the foster-home jackpot.

I can't wait to see more of him as he recovers and discovers what it's like to be a pug.

Oh, I am in love!!! Van, come to Alaska!!

I am in shock at how well he is doing in such a short time. His happy, wagging tail just melts my heart.

I almost could not believe it was the same "Van." It brought happy tears to my eyes to see that tail wagging so furiously. Super, super work and wonders by those who have helped him. Bless you.

Van's still doing GREAT. He's starting to put weight a bit on the leg when he goes out to potty, and he is full of life and happiness. I LOVE rescue pugs! Very Happy

There's a really great lady at my work who has been wanting a pug for awhile and she's fallen in love with him, he still needs a few weeks before he's adoptable but I am hoping it works out!

We went over to Van's foster mommy's house last night for a pug party, and I am SO in love with him. He is the sweetest pug, he reminded me so much of my previous foster Beau (who I adored). He's definitely a special guy!
