Accepting credit cards?

Post  Brenda on 9/15/2010, 9:37 am

Do any of the rescues you know accept credit cards? We have been for a few years but get killed on the monthy fees and per transaction fees. I am looking into other credit cards companies and just wondered if any rescues took them and there was someone I could talk to and bounce ideas around. We mainly do it for Pugfest. We made about $5000 more when we accepted ccs at Pugfest a couple years ago. But, the fees just piss me off and this PCI compliance stuff is a pain in the patootie!

Contact Rick & Debbie with Milwaukee Pugfest. They have a credit card/merchant account set up.

DFW has them too - we have a couple of machines. I'm not sure how the fees, etc. work.

If you want a contact, let me know and I can try to connect you...

Aren't the fees insane. Our store paid over $30,000 last year to credit card fees, and the credit card company is crying they are broke.
They should have some kind of allowance to non profits.
