Picked up a non-pug tonight...

Post  Maryjo on 9/30/2010, 12:56 am

Winnie is a shih tzu mix of some sort. A neighbor called me and said that her owner was going to take a 2.5 yr old dog to the vet to be euthanized for 'potty issues'. hair pull She says couldn't housebreak her... She wanted her gone NOW... Her daughter's 7th birthday was tomorrow, and she didn't want the dog around. WTF???

The neighbor talked the woman into signing the dog over to her, and she called me to have her put into our rescue.

I picked her up tonight. What a sweetheart! She is gorgeous, and playful and ran right outside with everyone else to pee. She is staying over night, and then I'll take her down to Vickie's where she be placed in a foster home.

Here's a few pics of Winnie. Who I am calling Minnie (as in Mini me).

This is when she first got here:

Isn't she cute?

Winnie says she thinks she could get used to this place.

Is this my best side?

Sigh.. I just don't understand people...

She is a total sweetheart.
They didn't deserve to have her and now she can be placed into a proper furever home.
I hope the little girl wasn't given a new puppy for her birthday sigh

Ohh, she's beautiful! Better now than when she's 10 or 12, I guess. At least she has a good shot of being adopted to a forever home....

I've about decided she's a peke-a-poo. She has those bowed front legs & 'over the back' tail like a Peke, and the rest of her looks spaniel.

She slept on the bed under my armpit last night. 7 dogs on the bed was a bit much, but they gave me an edge. *LOL*

She is beautiful! Reminds me of my childhood dog - she was a lasa-poo mix. I know she will find a good home quickly!

She is a total cutie. Her ignorant owners had no idea what joy and love they have lost. How unfortunate for them, and how fortunate for Minnie/Winnie that her neighbor knew what to do.

What is a cocker spaniel-peke mix? I said peke-a-poo,. but that would be peke-poodle..

I think she is cocker spaniel pekinese--- Cock-a-peke? peke-a-cock?? LOL

Maltese cross shih tzu are very popular around here. Probably because they are really really cute babies. sigh

She looks like most of them. I don't actually see any peke or any cocker in her. But who knows, really? Wink

ETA actually studying those pics again, maybe a little cavalier in there as well? Whatever, she's a cutie-pie.

I suspect that she's a cockapoo or a shih tzu/cocker mix. She's cute as the devil. Theo has that same bowed leg thing going on--I see it in a lot of shihs. Definitely cocker spaniel in there.
