Holy Pug, Batman!

Post  juneau hunter on 10/19/2010, 2:15 pm

Oh my! I need to recruit some people to foster pugs. They are coming out of nowhere and I'm not even looking for them!

I got an email from the woman who gave me Turbo. Her sister has a pug and she left her husband. Apparently she left the pug with him and he is keeping them (the pug and a rottie) in a kennel outside! Its freakin' cold at night! So I'm waiting for her sister's husband to call me and I'll go pick up the pug (Dizzy) and I'm trying to find someone in the military that wants a rottie (military guys love rottie's).

Then I get a phone call from a guy who says that someone gave him my phone number because I love pugs. Okay. He has an 11 month old pug (Izzy) that he brought home from Acapulco, Mexico when he went on vacation in January. He bought it as a gift for his wife's birthday and she left him a month ago. He works long hours and can't take care of the pug. I told him that if he wants me to take her I will. He said that he will think about it and call me tonight.

Sooooo......Dizzy and Izzy.....sounds like fate....crazy, messed up fate!

I think you need to contact Dagmar, and start getting an action plan.

Its great to help, and for sure, I would not be able to say no in those instances.....but, you have to know your limits, and you might need to work out some support to help you with this.

Hope you have your contract set up too.

Poor puggies! I hate when stupid people get dogs as gifts!

Yes good advice. Just one major medical issue can hurt you-our first two official rescues both cost us a ton that put us in the hole the rest of the year because we didn't have paypal set up at the same time we started taking pugs in. Get all your stuff in order, because it looks like you are going to become the Pug Lady!

Umm..some here might remember a foster I had that was about 11 months old, and named Izzy..... ashamed

Girlfriend, be careful what you wish for. You can't take every dog on all by yourself. You will be quickly overwhelmed!

Totally agree Tarrington, you're fast approaching critical mass and this isn't going to stop. Good luck with all this, I am sure Dagmar will help.
