I've never been a Michael Vick fan, even though he's a local guy. He was a thug when he played high school basketball against my stepbrothers, and he remains a thug to this day.

Do I believe that he should have been reinstated to the NFL when his legal sentence was fulfilled? Honestly, yes, I do. I think that the NFL should have higher standards than they do, but they've also got rapists, drug offenders, and domestic violence offenders on their rosters, so in the interests of consistency, I don't think that he needed to be held to any different standard than the other NFL thugs out there,

But am I offended that any violent criminal is allowed to be a member of that elite club that is NFL players? Hell yes!

I just hope this anti-Vick sentiment gathers momentum. Very powerful response from someone on the coal-face.

It makes me sick to hear the sports media praising this piece of crap. He is disgusting and I hate that he has come back is having so much success.

Like Ginger said the NFL is full of thugs and criminals. I know my team is not perfect, but the Saints are full of some pretty decent guys. I'm proud to support them. I hope I can continue to be proud of them.

There has not been an Eagles game on in our house since @$$face started playing ball again. I believe in second chances and he's been giving more then that and still proves to be a low life and yet the NFL continues to allow him to play. Just like I don't agree with all the other felons that are still allowed to play in the NFL, I don't think scumface should be allowed to either. Sadly it boils down to money. I'm a huge football fan, I love watching it. But Roger Goodell needs to grow some balls and start putting an end to all this. Too many kids look up to these sports players. It's not right for all of them to do what they do, say they're "sorry" and pay some fines and get re-instated in to the league. It's not right and it's not setting any good example for the youth. It makes me sick. Ok, stepping down off my box now. soap box

Those of you who know me well know that I am a huge Chicago Bears fan and a football fan in general. Well, no more. I just can't sit here and say "I love football" when I know deep down it is wrong to root for an organization who makes deities out of sociopaths. So while my family was watching football on TG, I was doing other things. When the Bears beat the Eagles, I kept the t.v. off. I will not watch another football game until Vick is gone.

And yes, I know there are wife-beaters, drug users, etc in the NFL too, but for some reason, that didn't spur me to action like this a**hole's actions have. When the victim is completely innocent, it colors my view, and those dogs were 100% innocent.

I figured if I was going to talk the talk, I'd better walk the walk--so I'm walking away from football. Haven't watched a game in three weeks and won't watch until he's gone.
