constipation help
Mochi is constipated. She usually has firm poops, since her food is good, but she doesn't drink a lot of water & I have notice she has been having a harder time getting the poop out & it's very dry & some is dry as chalk ( think of dry food smashed with back of a spoon, dry like that). I have started giving her pumpkin. Any thing else to help?

What about adding water to her food? Bran?

I do add water to her food, so she drinks the water.

I would definitely make sure her food (do you do kibble?) is flooded with water. Also, try making something tasty she could drink, such as sodium free chicken broth? Honest Kitchen sells tea made for dogs, which you make the tea and then add it to the food. I think they have one that is for digestive help.
Pumpkin is a good thing to add, because of the fiber. You could add some plain fat free yogurt or greek yogurt.
Also, for treats, try giving fresh fruit or veggies instead of dog biscuits. My guys love frozen green beans, apples, baby carrots, cucumber.

Would some fish oil help? I've never used it for that purpose but I would think it would "grease the wheels" a bit.
