DFW Welcomes 18 Country Stars!
We are happy to announce, DFW Pug Rescue has acquired 18 country stars! They are currently receiving a much needed rest and relaxation at one of our vet's offices. Some will be transferred to the other clinics after the staff has had time to assess their medical and emotional needs. Many of them are very stressed after their trip yesterday and will need a few days of quiet and very little contact.
Please help us welcome:
Fawn Females:
Ashley
Wynona
Naomi
Carrie
LeeAnn
Shelly
Trisha
Miranda
GeGe
Glynna
Fawn
Males:
Trace
Garth
Mr. George
Kenny
Lawrence
Allen
Nelson
Rex Goliath
Okay, so there are a few country star impostors in there, it is hard to quickly come up with 18 names!
And there is a possibility we may receive some more stars in the future.
Obviously, this creates additional need for donations for us during the holiday season. If you can spare $5 or $10 even, it'll be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Seriously! Everything is bigger in Texas I suppose.
We are very lucky - one of our vets was able to give us their cat room for several days, and generous to offer it without charge - so he and his staff can do the triage. Determine who needs additional care beyond just spay/neuter, so we can then transfer them out to one of the other 2 vets we work with in the area. Our volunteers will be putting in additional time helping with kennel care, vet transfers, and of course fostering.
I will post pictures when I'm able to, and updates too!

Brenda, one of the conditions of getting these pugs is that we can't share any more info about where they came from. Y'all can draw your own conclusions though.
Overall they are fairly healthy. Only 2 of the group were heartworm positive (out of 18, darn good odds). A couple are pretty scared/nervous, and we'll work with them to help them find their inner fawnness before they get adopted.
We are having a very special meet and greet with them this weekend. Cross fingers!

Karolyn and I were emailing about this and I told her the best thing to do is just smile and nod. Then when she gets in the vehicle with the puggers and is out of ear range, sing bleepity, bleep, bleeps all the way to TX.

We're throwing a big ole adoption shindig this weekend to get them some much needed exposure. And we're hoping that most of them will be able to go home with pre-approved applicants.
Our volunteers are hopping busy doing the vet checks and home checks for applicants, so cross fingers!
A local photographer took pics of many of them and posted them here:

hopefully you can see them!
