Missee and Dori

Missee and Dori
They were kept outside most of their lives (garage with a doggy door), the board member who picked them up said they smelled sooo bad, poor puggies. Missee is 10, and Dori is 8. Luckily they aren't bonded, so we can find separate foster homes for them. They are also both very overweight, Misee especially.
We are also getting one in that's been crated pretty much his entire life. Grr!

they are so pretty!!! so glad they are getting a chance at being "real" pugs. Crossing fingers that they find forever homes soon.

It seems like all the fosters have that same lost look in their eyes when they first come into rescue. That always hurts my heart.

their eyes look neglected too! glad they have found their way into rescue and will get the treatment (both medical and emotional) that they deserve.

They are just beautiful. How sad when these pugs spend their whole lives outside, or in garages, or in crates. How can people think that is right??!!!
I am so glad they are in rescue now, and I hope the perfect home can be found. Sadly, these elderly pugs can be hard to place, and I just don't understand why!

I will never, ever understand how people can treat any dog this way, but especially a pug! Argh!
Thank goodness they are safe with you guys now.

Oh, those eyes.
How sad it is that at this time of year especially there are always, always rescues coming in.
Sometimes I despair. But we mustn't, and somehow, we keep going. For the pugs, whose fault it isn't.

Yes, it can be depressing; it's been fairly quiet but the Christmas rush is starting. We have 2 more on their way in.

You're so right, Sally. But the transformation afterwards never fails to lift my heart. Rescue people are angels.

Yes, if eyes are truly the windows to the soul this is never truer than in the case of dogs leaving a sad life and coming into rescue. The wonderful thing is it doesn't take long to see another look in these beautiful eyes...

May they both enjoy their first warm, loving Christmas in a home for the holidays, whether it's a foster home or forever. They deserve it.
