Latest Foster - Winston
If you read the post about the two seniors we got in, you may know I had Mooch for a very short while. He was really missing his sister, and at the same time, another pug came in that needs me more, so I took Mooch back to be with his sister, and I took in the new guy.
Meet Winston. He is a shy, reserved 6 year old boy pug. I have yet to hear him make a peep. He is fully potty trained, which is a nice change, lol!
He has some very, very bad allergies and they have been allowed to grow out of control. I tried to get some good pictures of the ones on his face. He has sores all over his body though. Some of the sores are so deep, they have burned almost all the way through his skin into his mouth. He is in pain, all the time. he has yet to do much eating, because he is scared and I think it hurts him.

Winston is going in for surgery tomorrow. The sores are so deep that he needs a good thorough cleaning of them, and while they are at it, he has a suspicious lump that needs to be removed from behind his ear.

I hope Winston feels better after his surgery. He looks like he is in pain. When a pug does not care for food, you know there must be a reason.

It looks like his jowels are swollen? Probably from the infection? Poor little guy. Hugs!

Yes. He is badly infected. You can smell the infection just rolling off him. They sores ooze and bleed. One of the sores, I swear, it looks like it has burned all the way through the skin into his mouth. The vet was appalled. I am so glad he's getting fixed up tomorrow!
Re: Latest Foster - Winston
Aww..... but he has such a sweet face. I am sure he'll be fixed up soon.

It looks like a really bad staph infection. I know the dogtors will get him fixed up quickly!

Oh, that one on his throat looks like Annas did before we finally figured it out. Poor old boy, now wonder he's so quiet. I can't wait to hear the news that he's bouncing back and feeling better.

OMG! That looks so sore!
Was he surrendered because his family couldn't afford the treatment costs? How sad, if so.
Hopefully he will be feeling a little better soon and then you can tackle the allergy causes.
Sending tankloads of puggy vibes for Winston.

Poor little guy, he has such a sad look on his face. I hope his procedure goes well today and he's feeling better in no time.

I've only seen weeping sores like that from allergies a couple times in my life, and that's out of literally thousands of dogs at the shelter every year. Poor little smooshy boy. He's going to feel a lot better once those sores are cleaned and start to heal. I'm so glad he landed with you, Renee.
