Pippy and Pauly
So we got a call today from a guy who was in the hospital. He said he had left his pugs alone in his apartment and he first said it was for 10 days (!), but then wouldn't give us any other info. He agreed to meet with me so I went to the hospital to try and get more information. These pugs hadn't seen the outdoors in over 6 months! They were a breeding pair but he went into great detail how the male pug could never get it right. He said he would leave them for stretches of up to 10 days at a time. After talking to him, he eventually realized that was no life for them, and, he was also not doing well and would have to be in the hospital indefinitely. He agreed to surrender them and gave me a key to his apartment to get them. It was filthy. They were excited to see people! They were absolutely adorable, the little girl was only about 10 pounds. Both are friendly and look to be in ok shape, which is lucky. We are hoping she isn't pregnant. Their names were Pugsley and POOPSIE. But we are changing that. I fell in love with the little girl, she wanted to sit in my lap and give me kisses! I do feel bad for the owner, he's all alone, and that's not what I'd wish on anyone who is ill.
Here they are, Pippy:

He would leave food and water out and go on vacation.

being pugs, wouldn't they eat all the food at once, and then starve for days? How terribly scary for them to be left alone for days and days.
They are just adorable.
So, if the male could "never get it right", did they ever actually breed?
Saira, I am so glad he surrendered them, but so sad that so many pugs are dumped, and there is a never ending flow of reasons... mainly stupid people!

I don't think they actually did, he said she has come into heat 6 times "with no luck."

Oh they are cute. She is especially darling.
Trying to garner some sympathy for this guy, but just not finding it........

They are both absolutely gorgeous.
10 days alone? While he goes on holiday?
So glad you've got them now.

I'm so glad he decided to turn them over to you. Here's hoping there is someone that will want to adopt both of them and spoil them good.

Ok, I wouldn't leave a cat alone for 10 days, much less dogs!
uuugggghhhhh - I'm going to guess there's a reason he's alone at this stage in his life. And while it's not a situation I'd wish on anyone, I'm so glad SNPR has these pugs. Very, very glad.
I hope you find them a wonderful home Saira!

Re: Pippy and Pauly
They are now at the vet getting looked over, and then hopefully they can be fixed either today or Monday. We have a foster who will take them both, yay!
I totally fell in love with Pippy, she was just a teeny tiny doll!

Well, I'm thankful the guy came to his senses and called SNPR, that's the good news. However, leaving them alone for 10 days while he goes on vacation is just crazy.
I"m happy they are with SNPR and I hope they find forever homes soon!

Re: Pippy and Pauly
The pug breed is amazing -- so many of them can come through the most traumatizing experiences and still be friendly and loving.
I'm glad you were able to get these little ones, Saira.

Re: Pippy and Pauly
They are doing well, their foster said they are SUPER sweet. The little girl is very timid, but loves getting love and attention. The little boy seems better adjusted and is running the household.
