How do you get a blind dog to look at the camera? I held a treat in front of her nose, and she followed the smell as I moved it away.

Ohhh she is cute. I had a frenchie foster for a bit, and I loved her!

She was sleeping on a blanket in the first small-dog section when I got there. I watched thru the window as Vickie went to wake her up. I think Onyx is still exhausted from whatever trauma happened to her as she was on her own. A few very tiny dogs are in there (Maybe Barbie & Coco among others?), and so far, she seemed to ignore them.

I am curious how she'll act once she recovers some strength.

What a doll! Her life is going to be much better from now on, that's for sure.

She is a cutie pie! I'm sure she needs plenty of rest to recover from her ordeal.

As to getting a blind dog to look at the camera - well, if they can hear, sometimes that will work. But as a rule, you don't. You point the camera and just hope you can catch them head on once out of every 20 shots LOL

Until the 6-day waiting period is up (that is how long we have to wait for the pound to try to locate her owner), she's at Vickie's doggy daycare. Then she'll go to the vet for a check up.

Unless Vickie has a better idea, she might go to Lindy's house. Lindy is a co-worker of mine who volunteers for us. She and her brother have a small, one-story house with a large yard surrounding it. Onyx could easily learn the house and yard. Lindy's brother, Bob, is semi-retired and is home almost all day long, so he could watch her as she learns her way around.

They have 2 dogs of their own, both quiet ones, and they are currently fostering Markey, a shih tzu, but they like fostering two at a time.

Oh she's such a sweetie!!! I'm so glad she's in good hands now and getting some rest.
I can't even imagine what she went through that left her on that bridge all alone.

Sammy might like celebrating his Frenchie side with a new sister. She can come to VA! (Actually, he'd probably hate me for that, but Jackson and I would love it!)

omg - I'm just catching up on this now. I can't believe the poor thing was out alone on a bridge! I'd be concerned even if she wasn't blind.
