Poor old gal. You know it's bad when a pug won't eat. Her reaction to any fod is like my learned reaction to tequilla shots!!
If that is what made me feel that bad, I want no part of it! Isn't it amazing how quickly she made the association!? She is a smart girl! Took me years!!!
Hugs for you both!

Millie'sMichael wrote:Thanks very much, everybody, for the advice and for the cyber-hug. It has been a rough month for us. I will certainly try the things you all have suggested. I'll keep you posted.
PS... The goal is to get her to eat the kidney dog food eventually, but I will not do it if it causes too much anxiety. As I told the doctor...When it's Millie's time to check out from this life, I want her to go with her dignity intact, her tummy full, and her tail curled.
I also don't have anything to add to the advice given but want to send my support too. I also want to add that I love your PS Michael, I totally agree with your sentiments.
I hope she is eating better and feeling better really soon.

I hope she starts to improve. It's so hard to see them sick.
Not sure if this was already suggested, but could you puree the food (add some water if it's dry) with chicken. Start out mostly chicken, and gradually add in of the dog food. I agree, there are far worse things she could be eating than plain chicken!
