Bobby Hill & Bart

Post  Saira on Fri 4 Feb - 13:32

He's a little guy who was found and brought to a vet's office, who held him for three days before calling us. He was covered in bite wounds, and his eye is horrible-like Hope's was when she came into us (and coincidentally she was brought in almost exactly a year ago as well). He might be a pug/chi mix, either way he's adorable but he's definitely losing his eye, poor guy.

Here's a link to his pic, it's kind of icky:

I saw this on FB. Just when I think it has to be enough, another case like this comes along. How did the vet hold him three days? Did they treat him at all?

Nope, but at least they gave him pain pills. Rolling Eyes But all of us know with eye injuries that time is of the essence, he had no chance of saving his eye by the time we got him.

Oh and look who I get this weekend. He was also found as a stray (??!!), and had a cloudy eye. It's an old injury though. He's young, and is Sophie's twin. Laughing

That really ticks me off. Why would a vet hold him three days and not try to save the eye immediately??? What were they thinking?? I would really worry about the integrity of a vet office that would do that. I mean, seriously...? Don't vets take oaths similar to docs? In my mind, if they had the facilities to provide proper care, and they failed to do so... what does that say?

The office we picked Hope up from did the same thing, it's very maddening!

Us too but we had someone call late last night and said he needed someone to get his 8 year old pug in the morning or she'd go to the shelter. We all work. Grr. Luckily we had a volunteer get her.

Blanche, now why would you think a little black pug was bad? Sheesh. I actually have no idea, he was found a stray at a school!

Apparently he's very bad. LoL. Another board member picked him up because I am sick today and I am getting him from her tomorrow but he has driven her older pugs nuts.

Geez! The poor little guy! I hope he is comfortable at least. Did the remove his eye? It looks painful. Poor thing. Seriously, you all need a break. It seems like daily there is a posting about a new pug in the system. :( Did you call Pam to foster? I bet she would.

All the ones have been young and crazy, lol! They actually think they might be able to save his eye, they are trying a graft (?), we should know tomorrow if it seems to be working or not. We actually got in 2 today, and 2 tomorrow. Ugh!

Once I have the crazy little one, you'll have to come and meet him!
