Oh no! Another pug?
A woman contacted me a couple of months ago about her pug. She actually has 3 pugs - 2 fawn and 1 black. She was looking to rehome her black pug that is 6 months old because she is allergic to him. If this had not happened to me with Turbo, I never would have believed it - (how you can be allergic to one dog but not another).
The young woman clearly loves her pug and is heartbroken about having to surrender him. I talked her into trying different meds to see if she could manage the symptoms. Reactine works AMAZING for me. Yes, I have to take it every day, but it is worth it to keep Turbo (for now).
Earlier in the week she called crying saying that she can't do it anymore. She has tried so many meds and they work for a couple of days and then it starts all over. She is heartbroken, but wants me to pick up her pug today.
What am I going to do with a 4th pug? I can't say no!

Tarrington, you either need to get set up as a foster home for one of the rescues up there so that you'll have more resources or become a non-profit yourself. The good thing is that if the black pug is young, she'll be easily adoptable. Have no words, other than I'm a sucker too!

Yeah, young black pugs go quick around here (we usually have people waiting for them) so hopefully you can find him a home pretty fast. That is, unless, you decide that your heart's latest desire is to have a black pug of your own!
Good luck!

Allergic to just one certain dog, huh? Never heard of that and now I am smarter! Hope you get it figured out about what to do with a 4th.

You asked: what am I going to do with a 4th?
Here's the answer: love it like you love the others (silly)!!!
What's wrong with 4??
I mean, well, seriously... um... no help here... I have a "fifth" dog arriving today myself... BUT: it's made of STONE for the garden - is a foo dog... (and I do believe there is a garden somewhere under all my snowdrifts!)
see how #4 fits in.. that's the first step...

If you already have three...a fourth really isn't going to be that much more...and I think your granddaughter needs a little one to call her own...

Agree with this.
Tarrington - It's time to put the big girl panties on. 3 pugs was manageable... but, when you get to 4, and you may start getting in more, it is time for some direction of where you want to take this. If you truly want to run a rescue, then start taking those steps now. And, heartbreaking as it is, start working on placing the pugs (Turbo, and now this one). The hardest and most important part of rescue can be placement. Its a leap of faith for sure.
If you aren't ready, or can't get some kind of support... you may need to learn to say no. You can't do everything on your own, much as we would all like to.
Hugs! And, just for you - I hope this little black pug is Sohpie's twin!! Heeheehee!

Yup, I'm with Renee. Unfortunately it won't stop at 3, 4, 5...once people have your number as a rescue, they will call. And things can get out of control fast, especially with vet bills. I have 4 now, including the puppy Bart and it's really really hard. But, that's just me, lol.
As others have said though, black pugs are highly sought after, and young ones too. We have gotten a ton of apps for Bart already, so I know the pug will go quickly. But, if you get a call for a 12 year old...not so much. Get the non profit status and start advertising for foster homes! Even if you just get a facebook page set up, that helps a lot.

Great advice, Jana!
Tarrington....You have a wonderful heart, it's time to take to the next level.

Yup, you are all right! I know that I need to find a good home for Turbo. I love him, but he needs a man! He likes to play hard and thinks he is a big dog. He knocks the breathe out me sometimes when he jumps on me!
So I picked up this little black beauty!! OMG he is so stinking cute!! Totally well behaved!!! I will post pics tomorrow.
I'm thinking that pugs are like having kids! I had 3 and thought I would lose my mind. When I had the 4th, it was like night and day!! The 5th and 6th were a cake-walk. Although I really don't want 6 pugs!

Aw, come on! Piece of cake!
Says the woman who was cussing her six this morning as she cleaned up peed on blankets from the crates & she picked up poop off the floor.
