Why must she be such a mystery?

Why must she be such a mystery?
So at the last vet visit, we were leaning towards surgery because her bumps had remained stagnant. To test this theory, we upped her meds to see if they would shrink any further. They didn't, they remained the same except now the one above her eye decided to make an appearance again. This one had been gone for at least 6 months! I swear, it now has popped up twice, but really quick and goes away fast too. So that kind of defeated our stagnant theory. I emailed this pic to her vet, and what she found most amusing is that I got Sophie to sit still long enough to take it. So we're doing another round of wait and see. It's so frustrating! She researched a ton and didn't find anything quite like Sophie (hah). She also thinks now maybe there is also a seasonal component to it as well.

Sophie looks like she needs a big kiss.

Tell me you aren't surprised that "no one is like Sophie"? Her uniqueness is her special attribute......
Wouldn't surprise me at all that there is a seasonal component to this given the nature of MCTs--I would guess mastocytosis is similar.

Sophie's just doing her very best to keep the suspense alive.
Figures that she's a one-of-a-kind case, doesn't it? Seriously, though, I'm sorry her face bump popped up again. Just when you think you have stuff kind of nailed down...

Always keeping you on your toes, that girl. With or without bumps she's a cutie, but I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to not know the root cause, and just when you think it's safe to proceed with surgery...nope, there's a bump.

Ken says she just likes being difficult and stumping us.

Oh Sophie. You are so special!
I'm sure Maryjo wouldn't mind if you ship Sophie up to Anchorage for a few months to rule out a seasonal component.

mwahhhhhh to sophie who is THE CUTE even though she worries the mummy.
Re: Why must she be such a mystery?
I hope your vet is documenting everything so she can be ready when she wants to write a paper about Sophie. It could easily get published in one of the veterinary medicine journels.
I know if is frustrating, but knowing Sophie, she isn't going to make anything too easy for you.

#1- Sophie and my Chloe in the same house? Kendie, are you nuts? *LOL*
#2- Totally off topic, but I noticed greenery behind Sophie in that pic. I still have 2 feet of snow in my front yard. I won't see greenery until MAY!
#3- I would actually LOVE for Sophie to visit, but she'd never get to go home. I'd say Alaska weather is better for her and her bumps and keep her. *evil grin*

Yes, our grass is starting to come in, but I think that might be what triggers some of Sophie's reactions! I've been debating fake grass for that reason, it's really expensive though so I have to save up. But it's on my list!
Her and Chloe together could be scary....
Re: Why must she be such a mystery?
Sophie could never be just average. She is much too special for that.
Re: Why must she be such a mystery?
Yeah, I'm standing in the queue to give that face a big MWAH. Sorry about the return of the bump.

If she wasn't such a mystery, she wouldn't be Sophie. She just likes to keep you on your toes.

Oh, that face ...!
Sorry no clues here about the bump, though.

not only is it surprising that you got her to sit still, but she always looks bigger in pics. she's a tiny thing! I love your Sopha and there will never be another puggie like her, challenging as that may be.

Her and Jones have giant heads.
I think she's hilarious. She's sooo different from the boys, it's almost like they are different species!

Every little quirk just makes her more lovable!

How frustrating. That pic is adorable, she looks like she's thinking up some new trouble to get into.
