New Foster---Luke
This little guy was surrendered to our local shelter because the owner "traveled alot and worked long hours". He was named Louie, but I've changed it to Luke. He's intact and I'll be fixing that on Monday. He's just with me for the short term, I hope. I'm waiting for approval on another foster home that has younger dogs for him to play with. He's 2.5 years old. Sweet little boy so far. Has ignored the cats, played with Hazel and took being yelled at by Tank in stride.
Bit of a mad marker, but he only got here at 1:30 today so hopefully that will settle down.

Oh, he's a young handsome man. And, a new snazzy belly band to match his new life!

So far, he's a pretty good boy. He just had a bath and is now drying himself on my pant legs, the bed pillows and the dog beds....
Re: New Foster---Luke
Doesn't look like he gives a damn about leaving his "home", probably happy to be gone! Hopefully he'll go quickly.

Fabricland was having an "ends" sale and I bought up a lot of flannel for belly bands. He's sporting the Skull and Crossbones. I also have some lime green ones and ones with puppies and kittens on them.
Figured since he still had his balls, he'd wear the skull and cross bones--signaling the imminent demise of the dangly bits......
Re: New Foster---Luke
Rupert has an assortment of them, right now he is sporting his denim one, but he really does need a skull one. I'll have to pick up some fabric and have one made for him.
Hope all goes well w/ Lukes demise of his manhood!

Oh Dear. He might not be too bright. He's on our guest bed (which has a Sesame Street quilt on it) and he's barking at the Big Bird design, running up to it, pawing it, barking and then jumping backwards in case of Big Bird attack......
Re: New Foster---Luke
I love the "not so bright" ones....like my Zorro! I just spent the last 30 minutes watching him dance around his bully stick like it was a cobra!

Well, at the least the "not all that bright" ones are usually incredibly sweet. Luke sure is. He's finally settled down. He must be pooped. A week in the shelter then here and running around like a loonie......

That's so funny. We always tell our kiddos,"thank goodness you're cute." Luke is very handsome! Trish

Very cute! He looks a lot like my Duke, only younger. Duke's probably not much smarter either...he's deathly afraid of blankets that move (like when Zoe is laying underneath one).

He's a handsome little chap. As he's a youngster, I can't imagine that he'll be waiting too long for a new home.

He's a good-looking little fellow. Once those brain tumors are removed, I'm sure he'll be even more delightful.

Nah...He's smart!!! I wouldn't want to be using a quilt with Big Bird on it either. He scares the daylights out of me! I would punch him the face too!! Way to go Luke!
He sure is spunky!

Re: New Foster---Luke
He had his neuter and came through it just fine. He was a mess at the vets. He's either not been handled much or been handled inappropriately. So much of the exam freaked him out. He was terrified of the stethoscope and when she tried to exam him knees he went mental. We were able to determine his knees were fine by the calisthenics and acrobatics he did to avoid having her touch his knees. He wasn't nasty or aggressive, but totally freaked out. Thank God, they clipped his nails while he was under. That's not going to be a fun job in future.
And the fact that he's lived on the 13th floor in an apartment in downtown is evident every time we go out. He doesn't know what half the things are he encounters. Yard waste bag? Terrifying. Garbage can? YIKES. He wasn't even really sure what my backyard was about.
But he's a quick study and is learning. He still can't figure out sleeping on the big bed and steps all over everyone and annoys us all so he is crated at night and does fine. I'd love to have him sleep with everyone else, but he can't settle and everyone ends up yelling at him (the canines, that is). We all get more rest with him in the crate beside the bed.
He's spending more time out of the belly band and is learning that he doesn't need to squirt everything he sees in the house.
All in all, a very fine little man.

Re: New Foster---Luke
He's a cutie and should be adopted out quick. Poor little one did not get a fair hand in his former home but with much love and tlc, he will learn what it's like to be a pug.
