Pug Events

Post  Saira on 6/18/2009, 12:55 pm

What kind of stuff do you guys have at your pug events? Just trying to brainstorm new ideas for Pug-O-Rama. Or have you seen something at a pug/dog event you thought was particularly neat?

Of course we have contests like curliest tail, etc and costume contests and raffles, but what else?

Very Happy

At Pugoween there is a dog nail trimming station that is VERY popular! Also, the pet psychic seems popular. My aunt might work this year and she is a certified canine massage therapist! I think that will go over well????

Oh!! the canine massage therapist is a good idea! In fact, one of our foster homes is a canine massage therapist. That is an awesome idea.

We used to do nail trimming but between the screaming pugs, and the blood if the nail got quicked, it was too stressful!

At Pugsgiving a few years ago they had it set up where pugs could paint pictures. I think they dipped their paws in washable paint and let them walk on the paper. Maybe Sarina or someone could explain it better or give more detail.

They also have some techs come out and do anal glands and nail trims. The lady that I had come to the house last night has a sling she puts them in that keeps them still. Mack and Mattie both did a lot better with that than standing on something. Her website is sitandtrim.com if you want to see what I'm talking about.

One of our foster homes made up a pug kissing booth. It was so cute! I think it was $1 a kiss and we did very well with it.
