Low/No cost spay neuter by state

Post  Miss Pit on 5/29/2011, 10:45 pm

I found this on FB. Please feel free to share.

I like that there's some assistance for people that do TNR of cats in some states.

Sigh. I like the info, I don't like the source.

One day when I have time I will cut/paste the info and share that without its background, Call me stubborn but I simply won't espouse or support that source in any way. I know that some of the things they do are good, but that can be also said about any of the nasty genocidal dictators in history.

I can't speak for low/no cost spay/neuter programs anywhere else, but up here I have a few concerns about ours. They tend to be low/no cost because they use the cheapest anaesthesia possible, no IV fluids, no pre-anaesthetic blood work and often no pain meds.

Speutering is a high priority for me, but I do feel conflicted often about the way in which the low cost clinics do the procedures.

I agree with your views,Angela. I know that some of the information isn't up to date because there's several sources missing from Minnesota as well as Louisiana.

I'm not familiar with the Animal Liberation Front. Are they sort of like PETA? An organization that sounds like I'd support them, but whose tactics are too radical for me?

ALF thinks PETA sold out and has become too focussed on animal welfare instead of liberation......
