Re: Meet Missy Lou

Missy Lou was sent to remind me how wonderful fostering can be. She stayed glued to my side all evening while we relaxed last night, slept with my gang in their area fine all night, and wolfed down her breakfast.

She's perfectly house trained, though she doesn't have any obedience training at all.

Now I'm rejoicing in the fact that she's out from under my desk and sharing a bed with Dre. 24 hours of love can make a HUGE difference!!!

As for her health - the flea allergy has led to some awful dermatitis, and is pretty infected. she's on a 30 day round of antibiotics, plus 10 days of prednisone to help with the itchies. She's missing some patches of hair on her hind end and back legs.

Nothing the medicated baths + meds won't clear up. She's just the cutest and sweetest little thang!!!

What kind of medicated baths are you giving her? I have a foster who has pyroderma and needs one, don't know what to buy.

Donna - the vet's office gave it to me. It's ketachlor, or malaseb. I think the actual name on it is ket-mal or something! I will go look when I push 4 pugs off my legs....

She looks like a VERY happy girl! And you look quite content with your TEMPORARY pug parrot.

Donna: I've used Nizoral shampoo for a number of dogs with skin issues. Up here you can get it in any drug store.

She's very cute; somehow I don't think she'll be with you for long! Hope the allergies can be sorted out quickly.

most of you guys probably saw this one on FB this morning:

Missy Lou cuddling up for a belly rub. She fell asleep like that. Trusting little soul!!!

Gave her another bath today, got many more scabs and such off - she loves the rub downs. She has a bit of a cough, which the vet thinks is related to her allergies. So we added another med this morning. Wait & see...
