Happy Gotchya Day, Niko!

on this day in 2007 I did a round trip drive (WITH two crates in the
back - one for Tigger and one for Captain, since they were still fighters!) from BOSTON to NYC to meet and pick up
Niko!

She was then "Miko" and her skin-folk lived in a lovely apartment in times square -
with floor to ceiling windows looking over the entire east island! She
came with a gucci collar (that was waaaay too tight ), a collapsible crate of her own, and an uncontrollable licker!

We ditched the collar right away (I was mortified when I put my hand on her as she sat beside me and we pulled into Manhattan traffic, to feel how tight the collar was and to know that was the one thing I had not anticipated or brought with me!), but we still have everything else!

It
seems fitting that she should be on her way to camp unleashed - the
best "thank you gift" I have found to give my dogs - this
weekend!

you, my dear little monkey! You have brought peace and love and your
bossy pants little (diva) self to the pack in my home! I love it that you like to lie across my face and snore!"

I remember that day, can't believe it was so long ago. I've had the pleasure of watching Niko, she will always have a place to stay if she should need one, she is such a sweet girl.
