Re: NEed help
What is happening with your Pug? I googled some information and this is what I found...
Hemoglobin: A final way we can evaluate the RBC's is by quantifying the amount of hemoglobin present. In some anemias, the actual number of RBC's may not be real low, but if the cells contain less than the normal amount of hemoglobin, the signs of anemia could be quite severe. The normal hemoglobin level for a dog is 14-20 grams/deciliter, and 9-15.6 g/dl for cats.

Re: NEed help
There will be some variation depending on the lab used and the scale they use, but hemoglobin results do not vary based on the size of the dog. Here is an explanation of hemoglobin and what are normal values for dogs (RBCs are Red Blood Cells):
Hemoglobin: A final way we can evaluate
the RBC's is by quantifying the amount of hemoglobin present. In some
anemias, the actual number of RBC's may not be real low, but if the
cells contain less than the normal amount of hemoglobin, the signs of

14-20 grams/deciliter, and 9-15.6 g/dl for cats.
So yes, your dog's hemoglobin count is low. Could be a sign of anemia. What has your vet said about this?

Re: NEed help
It is best to consult with your vet regarding the lab results. Different laboratories have different reference ranges for blood tests. It is not a universal reference range. Therefore, what matters is the normal reference range for hemoglobin for the laboratory that conducted your dog's particular blood tests.

Re: NEed help
Our dog's hemoglobin results won't help you. My dogs all have hemoglobin results in the normal range--which for the lab my vet uses is 14 to 20.
You need to talk to YOUR vet about the results your dog has. From what you've said, the dog has low hemoglobin (6 out of a range of 12 to 18) so you need to speak with your vet about what this result means. It could be anemia or some other issue--but you need to speak with your vet about this.
