Alanna, new pug mix
I'm not fostering her.. but, I thought I would post some pictures of our latest rescue pug mix. Definitely not a puggle, we are thinking she's a pug / pom. The most fearful and shy pug mix I have ever met!! She came from the shelter, so I don't know much about her or why she's in rescue.

Re: Alanna, new pug mix
Aww she looks so scared! She looks like a longer haired version of one of the pug mixes we recently had, Posey.
Re: Alanna, new pug mix
Oh she sure is cute! But I have a mental picture of a pug with Lola's personality.....scary!!!

LOL. I'd say not a pom as that's a lot of nose and most poms have pretty short faces. Long haired chihuahua maybe?
Poor little muffin. She's pretty cute.
Re: Alanna, new pug mix
My first thought was the same as Blanche's but chi's usually do throw the domed head and she shows no sign of that. And that coat is a thick double but not quite profuse enough at her age to shout "Pom". But there do seem a lot of Spitz characteristics -it could tie in with the temperament too. They are notorious for being reserved with strangers and can need special socialisation to overcome that.
Maybe one of the miniature spitzes, an Eskimo Dog, Mittel or Japanese?
Not that there's a lot of them running about loose impregnating pugs LOL!
It's all such a genetic lottery, the other parent could have been a mix of 10 breeds, but when I look at the head carriage and ear set I am irresistably reminded of a tibetan spaniel. But again, the muzzle length and shape does not tie in with that.
Oh dear, I'm not much help, sorry. But it is fun trying!

I wish I had a picture of her tail! It is curled up like a pug, but long and bushy like a pom.
It is fun to try and figure it out.

It would be fun to do one of those DNA tests on her to see what exactly was in the woodpile. Poor little scared girl.

She is adorable!!! I love her face! Maybe with some coaxing and socializing she will come out of her cute little mixed shell and make some family really happy!
