Hollly and Dolly
They had a rough life so far, Both are pretty blind and about 12 years old. Dolly (the smaller one) had an old untreated eye injury, and is being treated for pneumonia right now.

Holly is in better shape, she's GIANT, so she needs to loose a ton of weight, but is otherwise pretty healthy. She has the thickest coat I've ever seen, she looks like a wolly mammoth.

I saw these on FB. That picture of Holly cracks me up!
Were they together from the same home?

Yes, same home but they aren't bonded. Thank goodness!
Re: Hollly and Dolly
Poor babies, I hate to think that they were "surrendered" at this age
We will never get it, and I never want to be to that point where I can understand it.
Mavis is 10 and my bond with her just gets stronger and stronger with each passing day

Me either. But in this case, I wish they had been surrendered sooner!

Oh boy what a pair! I love Holly's face, and Dolly's tongue is a riot!
Thank goodness they are in SNPR's care now.

Oh, bless. How difficult is it likely to be to find fireside homes for these two old girls? Here in the UK it is often not easy.

It's going to be very difficult. Most of the pugs we have in now are seniors that have been with us forever and a day, as many of the seniors we have in are also blind or mostly blind, or have some other issues. And it's tough, because that limits how many we can take in as only a few fosters can take in long timers. The homes that always in the past could make room for one room are full with their seniors fosters who they ended up adopting.
Re: Hollly and Dolly
They are both precious! Cooper, whom I fostered, had a coat like that--we used to call it his Malamute fur. Incredibly dense.
Sigh. Yep--the seniors that no one wants.
And we have trouble with even young and healthy. The downside to the fact that many people saw the "pedigree dogs exposed" film is that we see many people who say they'd never get a pug because of it.

Poor old girls. Yep, as Erin said, as they get older the bond just gets stronger. You'd only get my oldies away from me if they were taken from my cold, dead hands.

I'd starve before I gave up Minni and we've only been together a couple of years. I can't imagine giving up a Pug after so many years of love!!!!! It ook over a year to convince SWMBO that we needed to adopt another baby. Now I'll start lobbying for fostering. LOL!

Fostering is the best! So very, very rewarding.
Re: Hollly and Dolly
Those faces! I can't imagine how confused they are. Penny leaves me when either she or I die, whichever goes first, and even then we will probably be together. Simple as that. I really don't understand people.

I can't imagine dumping a senior, especially :(. The confusion for them has to be terrible.

Those two seniors look so lovable to me. Real sweeties.
I just love the seniors. How I wish I had a fenced yard and room for at least a couple more of the old dears.
