Update on Gregory AKA Tenzing

Seems the little man has already scouted out the male of the family as the soft touch.....and Tommy is the resident cat.....

Got this email this evening from his new mom:

Well, after a very brief 24 hours, Tenzing
certainly has captured our hearts. He really is quite at home and his
favourite place appears to be the bed. He snuggles up, usually fully
sprawled and I’m happy to announce at least a foot and half away from
Tommy. Though he tries to look in Tommy’s direction wagging his tail,
Tommy still shoots him a “ not yet” look so I’m positive it’s just a
matter of time. This afternoon, Tenzing did do the Shih Tzu mutter at
him then stretched and went to sleep.
We
can’t get over how quiet he is. So far, he’s spending his days sleeping
and following us around and seems to want the both of us in the same
room. If we aren’t he searches all three floors and settles until he
hears the other one of us make some noise. He’s so quiet that we have to
be quite diligent as to whose office chair he’s under. And I’m
getting quite used to typing with the little guy on my lap.

His
walks and feeding are great. Blanche he’s really taken to raw and if we
didn’t have 25 lbs. of Acana left over, he’d be on it entirely. He will
get his first raw bone tomorrow as it’s quite meaty and will probably
replace a meal.
We’ve been around
the parks here hunting for a buddy in the neighbourhood but so far no
luck so this evening we’re heading out again to a dog park close by and
we’ll see who we can find. But we are making arrangements for a play
date with three Shih Tzu’s our last walker owns in the very near future.

Car
rides are great, he sits in the back but comes slinking into the front
hoping to sit on Rob’s lap. I drive, Rob doesn’t so it’s up to Rob to
make the decision if he always wants company in his lap.

I’m
thinking that Tenzing is already showing signs of picking Rob as his
favourite human. He follows him everywhere but still shares his love
with me. There’s something so endearing of a six foot four man embracing
a tiny little bundle. He carries him around the house like a baby,
which seems to be fine with the both of them. Of course he will be
spoiled but he will be treated as a dog. Yesterday at dinner, as he
stared at us with his sad eyed face, we said no and I put him in his bed
by the couch. He stayed until our meal was complete without complaint.

Tenzing
is showing a bit of resistance in going out initially . but then I
would too if I’ve lived in 4 homes in 5 months. So that’s a matter of
time as well. He is already aware what home is his and almost has the
street down as well. So things are coming together even faster than I
would have expected. He still has little interest in the backyard or his
toys,

I’ll keep you both posted on highlights of this beautiful guys life.

A great update and I'm so glad they will keep in touch. Think they would agree to adopt me?

Those are the best updates! Love it! I wonder is Gordon taking the "credit" for Gwegowee/Tenzing's adoption of his new daddy as his favourite?

That's wonderful! I missed the fact that you found him a forever home!

Hmm, the collective Steamcats here are named Hillary, Mallory, and Irvine so a Gregory morphing into Tenzing seems right. Sound like delightful people, quite the nicest you have found since Abby Labby.

After what seems like a constant bombardment of bad news and bad people, it's great to hear about deserving dog finding a loving forever family.......Old Hippies Rock!!!!!!!

Well, they are both union folks--he's a union negotiator and she's way up the ladder of OPSEU (Ontario Public Service Employees Union) so I was expecting maybe some Union/leftie names.

The cat's full name is Tom Waits For Mice--Tommy for short.

Their last shih tzu was Mona, and their rotts were Buzz and Mooshka.

What a wonderful update! So glad Gregory/Tenzing has found his true forever home.
