Magoo (*Update-he's adopted!)
I know a lot of you have seen him on facebook, but I wanted to share just how awesome he is!
He was found (in 115 degree weather), by the side of the road on Monday. We think he was hit by a car, although we don't know for sure. A vet tech found him, took him to her vet's office, who then called us. Both eyes are useless, after our vet looked at him, we think one was bad for quite awhile, and one burst on the impact of whatever hit him. He also has hip dysplasia. It's looking like we'll get him into surgery on Friday, but when I went to do another pick up last night, I visited him.
He is an absolutely amazing dog. He was nervous at first, because he's very attached to one of the vet techs, but I sat on the floor and let him explore. He gets around so well, you wouldn't know he was blind. When I called him, he'd come running to me and give me kisses. He was playful too. I just love him, you just know he's one of those super special guys...the vet tech who loves him said "all pugs are special but this guys..he's something else." I think that about sums it up.
I took some videos of him but can't post them here for some reason.

Poor guy, he looks like he's been through something so traumatic. I'm glad to hear he's letting his sweetness show through what must be pretty painful.

Yeah they really are! I am not kidding if there was anyway I could afford 4 pugs, I'd adopt him, you just fall in love with him. I just can't swing it with Sophie and now Hooligan.
Re: Magoo (*Update-he's adopted!)
Bless his heart. I have a feeling his forever person is hovering around somewhere close right now....
I'm glad others are sending in donations too. You guys have been hit hard recently.

Never, ever underestimate the blind pug. And sometimes I think the tougher the past life, the more they relish the new one.
He is darling.....

What a tough little bugger, for him to get hit then being able to withstand 115 degree heat, I would give that little guy a beer and a medal! Take good care of him, he deserves everything in the world after what he has been through. My prayer is that he has more good times than bad, seems that too many have more bad times than good.

Yeah the volunteer who picked him up said "if you told Magoo he was blind, he wouldn't believe you."

Magoo is still doing great! We got him fixed, and it looks like a lot of his initial stiffness was likely from the accident. They did another round of x rays and examined him, and we think his hd is mild at this point-he may need surgery in the future but it wasn't bad enough to put him through that right now.
We may have a home for him too!
We have another pug at our vet's that has been battling bad pneumonia for about a week but it looks like he's finally ready to go to a foster, so I am picking him up tomorrow to transport him and will visit with Magoo again.
I love our vet.

Re: Magoo (*Update-he's adopted!)
Just wanted to give an update on Magoo. He's adopted.
His foster family fell in love with him. They said he was the most popular dog in the neighborhood, and you'd never know he was blind. He loves walks (he gets 3 a day to work off his energy!), loves kids and adores other dogs. He can even scale babygates! They have another blind pug, so they are a great home for him.

What wonderful news!
Thank you Saira for helping him and for the update!
